We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Licensed Optician to join our friendly, professional team.

Position Summary:

As a Licensed Optician at Belchertown Eye Care, you will play a key role in helping patients select the right eyewear, ensuring proper fit, and educating them on lens options and care. You’ll work closely with both patients and a Master Optician to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards of optical accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, and proper fit based on prescription and lifestyle.
Accurately measure, fit, and dispense eyewear and contact lenses.
Interpret and verify optical prescriptions.
Perform adjustments and minor repairs on eyewear.
Maintain inventory and place orders for frames, lenses, and optical supplies.
Ensure compliance with optical health regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
Educate patients on lens care, frame maintenance, and proper eyewear usage.
Collaborate with an Optician and office staff to support overall patient care.
Deliver outstanding customer service in a welcoming, professional environment.

Qualifications:

Current Massachusetts license as a Dispensing Optician required.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a licensed optician preferred.
Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, coatings, and frame materials.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer experience skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
Proficiency with optical software systems (e.g., EHR, lens ordering platforms) is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, if required.
